YouthCast
About the Project
YouthCast is a youth-led project dedicated to raising awareness about bullying, empowering young people to speak up, and promoting safer, more inclusive and supportive communities.
The project was created to provide young people with a safe space to discuss their experiences, explore the different forms bullying can take, and develop practical knowledge and strategies for addressing it. Through open dialogue, storytelling and digital media, YouthCast focused on transforming personal experiences and knowledge into meaningful awareness and action.
At the heart of the project was a four-episode podcast series, with each episode addressing a different form of bullying:
“Beyond the Screen – The Truth About Cyberbullying” – exploring harassment, public shaming, doxxing, catfishing and other forms of bullying in digital spaces.
“Know Your Rights – Fighting Back Against Mobbing” – examining mobbing, psychological harassment and the importance of recognising one’s rights and seeking support.
“Voices Against Hate – Standing Up to Racist Bullying” – addressing racist bullying, discrimination, exclusion and the importance of standing against prejudice.
“No More Labels – Overcoming Body Shaming Together” – exploring body shaming, social expectations around appearance and the importance of self-acceptance and respect.
Beyond the podcast series, YouthCast included discussions, workshops and collaborative activities through which participants strengthened their communication, storytelling and digital content creation skills. The project also examined the psychological and emotional impact of bullying and emphasised the importance of empathy, resilience, solidarity and access to support.
A key project outcome is the YouthCast Resource Book, bringing together information, insights from the podcasts, practical tips and resources for recognising and responding to different forms of bullying. The resource is intended to remain available beyond the project and support young people, organisations and communities in their continued anti-bullying efforts.
Through its podcasts, resources and awareness activities, YouthCast aims to create a lasting impact by encouraging young people and the wider community to move from awareness to action. The project promotes a culture in which bullying is challenged rather than normalised, experiences can be openly discussed, and every young person feels heard, valued, respected and supported.
Listen. Speak. Support. Act.
